CUSTOM FLOORING

Middle Country Public Library’s mission is to be a “Dynamic community hub with comprehensive programs and services that meet the needs of its residents.” This team is driven by its mission of “business world models to develop entrepreneurial solutions to funding issues, while broadening the scope, reach, and definition of what a library can be.” Thanks to the fantastic staff, this library keeps growing and improving and can continue to serve its community with a new updated look. The latest Middle Country Public Library update was the adult area renovation. This adult area has become a new makerspace, a communal public workshop in which makers can work on small personal projects and include quiet/group study rooms. The children’s area received an updated look with new floors. Both the adult and children’s rooms used Milburn for the company’s unique flooring options and installation, while RENU’s talented carpentry team is responsible for installing new ceramic tiled bathrooms. The carpet tile installed in the main parts of the library consisted of two different Color Custom Shaw products. The carpet tile used in the main areas is Shaw Chroma Eco-Sol Q, color custom run totaling 2,600 SQ Yards. The carpet tile accent is Shaw Applied, with Night Vision (Lime Green) and Amethyst (Purple) colors totaling 400 SQ Yards. In the adult area, Milburn installed engineered wood floors, Pre finished – Nydree, Plainsawn, White Oak, 7&1/2”, color Atlantic Grey. The flooring was installed after library hours in one section per night, meaning the library never had to close to accommodate the installation. We hope the community enjoys these updated spaces and continues to flourish.
