Construction Superintendent

We are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent for our Port Chester, NY location. This position requires an individual to be able to have an eye for detail and be able to multitask.  Ability to create and maintain project schedules, ability to facilitate and coordinate all trades required to meet project schedules. Chair and record project meetings and distribute minutes in a timely fashion.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ability to prepare and distribute submittal logs, monitor day to day activities on the project sites
  • Assist Project Managers in coordinating and managing all trades throughout the entire construction project and will be responsible for ensuring that the owner’s expectations and budgetary guidelines are met for projects
  • Solve unexpected events, maintaining general performance and overall progress of the project
  • Knowledge of architectural drawings; for all phases of interior and exterior construction
  • Ability to communicate with governmental authorities
  • Create, approve, and disapprove subcontractor and material change orders
  • Evaluate, implement and communicate the necessity for the highest construction quality standards
  • Be hands-on if required to take deliveries and maintain site conditions
  • Understand and implement a safety program conforming to OSHA requirements
  • Plan and direct all site operations to meet quality standards and scheduling requirements
  • Be an active and effective leader of the job site construction team
  • Represent the company to the owner, architect, subcontractors, vendors and government
    authorities
  • Quality Assurance – Maintain job quality. Communicate with subcontractors required quality standards. Inspect materials arriving on job sites. Verify count and quality and reject material not conforming
  • Enforce provision in subcontractors agreements that mandate all workers clean up waste debris after each working day
  • Safety Program – Help police General Contractor’s safety program and verify safety program of subcontractors.
  • Track and maintain project schedule, including providing two week look ahead.
  • Monitor and track manpower via daily logs.
  • Track construction progress with weekly photos of site.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial project management of all types and sizes with verifiable work history and references
  • SST and 40 OSHA required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
  • Organization, time management required
  • Intermediate to expert in MS Office
  • Experience in Procore a plus.
